Parent Commitment

As we enter into our 10th year of existence, we have found that our greatest sucess has been with parents that fully embrace the school's vision. To that end, we are seeking to build our program with parents that embrace the long-term success of their child and the long term success of Solid Foundation Christian Academy. Parent participation/volunteering in one capacity or another is required in order for a child to remain enrolled in our program. Parents must donate 24 hours of documented volunteer time to the program.

For a child to be successful at Solid Foundation, parents must recognize that school is only one factor in a child’s education. It is not just the school's responsibility to educate, expose, and create a well-balanced child.  It is also the responsibility of the parents. Parents are the first educators. Solid Foundation works to bridge the home and school gaps. Our students also need active and consistent parental involvement at home to establish effective study skills. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of success at the school, but the lack of parental support and follow-through will undermine this effort. Parents must be aware of homework assignments and help to ensure that PACES are completed in a timely manner. Parents must also be willing to enforce a consistent study schedule, and seek outside tutoring if additional help is needed.

At Solid Foundation, parents are partners and are needed to take an active and meaningful role to ensure the success of our school.  Parental involvement is key in building and maintaining a solid home/school relationship.  For this reason, parent participation in the education process of our students is crucial. Parents must agree and sign a parent agreement form stating that they  understand their role in helping the efforts of our school. A child will be dismissed from the program if the family does not actively and positively support the program.

Before a parent registers their child, they must consider their role and desire to make our educational program a success. If the parent cannot commit to helping make Solid Foundation a success, it is best not apply to the program until a parental commitment can be made.

Our parents are actively involved in our program and are encouraged to participate where needed.  We have an active Family Partnership, with informative meetings held on a quarterly basis or as needed.  Parents or a designated person is required to volunteer a minimum of twenty-four hours per school year per family to represent the child. If a parent or another person in the family cannot commit to volunteering some time throughout the school year, it is best not to apply for the program at this time.

We encourage all parents, legal guardians and adult family members to become actively involved at Solid Foundation by serving as a parent volunteer where needed.  Your time, talent and enthusiasm are an integral part of the day-to-day functioning of the school and the overall academic development of your child.
